Recently in NYC a homeless man that tried to help a woman was knifed and left to die while passersby simply avoided him. Below is a video from Chile about a dog that puts many of us (and especially those who recently left the man in NYC to die) to shame.
The story of the Good Samaritan is not just a good story. It is (well at least it should be) a way of life. Maybe if we had the same courage and determination of this little dog, we would all be better off!

Sorry, dear. I just can't bear to watch the video.
Okay, so since you convinced me to watch it I am glad I did. Although it wasn't fun watching the dog get hit (and I'm glad he survived!), the rescue dog was awesome. The NYC group of people that left the man to die on the streets could certainly learn a lesson from this great pup. I know that there is a "bystander effect" that makes everyone else think that someone else is arranging for help, but would it really be so bad if 911 got 50 calls about the same thing?
That is the same theory I have behind letting me know (as Pastor) when someone is in the hospital. I would much rather have many calls to let me know than none!
This will make you cry. Cry for the hurt dog, cry for his pal who tried valliently to save him and cry for all of us who do not do our duty to our fellow man. God must cry a lot.
